Breaking: Massive Landslide Hits Mata Vaishno Devi Route; At Least 2 Dead, Several Feared Trapped

Landslide occurred near Panchhi Helipad on Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan Road. There is a possibility of devotees being trapped due to landslides. Relief and rescue work is being carried out by Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board. Vaishno Devi route has been prone to landslides amid heavy rainfall in the region. The temple is situated at an altitude of 5200 ft, pilgrims have to undertake a trek of nearly 12 km to reach there. It is one of the most visited pilgrimage destinations in India
