The MOU with IESCO and SNGPL were also duly signed. Development work on the project started in 2009.
Islamabad Expressway is a signal free corridor that connects all areas between Faisal Masjid to T-chowk. It is a straight highway which will be expanded to 5 lanes competing with Dubai’s Sheikh Zayed Road. Islamabad Expressway serves as the backbone of the federal capital. In near future, dozens of new housing societies, commercial markets and shopping malls will be constructed alongside the highway increasing the charm of the road. Total length of the expressway is 28 kilometers.
