Game Review & Impressions
---------------------------------------------------
Converted from the Atari ST version, Jumping Jack'Son is a curious-but-engaging puzzle game. I guess a lot of people might not be familiar with this game, but I owned a copy on my A500, and it despite being really tough, I always remembered it being pretty cool.

In a world where classical music rules, it's your mission to keep the spirit of Rock & Roll alive by saving vinyl records and spinning them on the decks. The objective of each stage is change groups of tiles to the same matching colour by bouncing on them, which in turn causes a record to spawn on a near-by music tile. Grab the record and take it to a record deck matching the same colour, then repeat the process for all decks in the level. Once all records are playing, you exit the level by returning to a square containing a chequered flag.

The game's coolest feature is, as you might expect, the music. Activating decks builds up the track playing in the background, with additional instruments and bass lines introduced with each record collected. The tunes are mostly just short loops, but the samples are really cool, and it's a neat use of the Amiga's 4-channel audio capabilities.

Trivia

Graphician Didier Chanfray would go on to work with Frederik Raynal on Alone in the Dark and Little Big Adventure
Musician Stephane Piq would later work on musical scores for Cryo Interactive, including Lost Eden and other interactive CD-ROM titles.

Video Notes
---------------------------------------------------
Each game mode features 16 main levels (excluding bonus and challenge stages), but beating the final level causes the game to loop straight back to the beginning again. I played through both game modes - see chapter timestamps for links.
