On May 3, Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh Assembly and Telugu Desam Party Leader N Chandrababu Naidu expressed his concerns over the state's inability to attract foreign direct investment (FDI). According to Naidu, Andhra Pradesh has only received an FDI of Rs. 5,571 crore, which is the lowest among all the coastal states. He stated that while the state's software engineers are doing well globally, they are hesitant to return and start their own business ventures in Andhra Pradesh.

In an interview with ANI, Naidu highlighted the need for the state government to address the situation, saying "The situation is very bad". He also questioned why the state has been unable to create an environment that is conducive for software engineers to return and invest in the state.

Andhra Pradesh, located on the southeastern coast of India, has historically been a hub for technology and innovation. However, in recent years, the state has faced challenges in attracting investment and retaining skilled talent.

Naidu's comments come amid a challenging economic environment, as businesses across the world continue to grapple with the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, state governments in India are increasingly focusing on attracting investment and creating job opportunities to spur economic growth.
