John Brown leapt the advertising boards in celebration as his late goal sealed the win for Rangers. He fired in off the post from 20 yards to make the final score 3-1. Earlier, Ally McCoist had scored just before half-time after an assist from Mark Hateley before he was brought down in the box by Gordon Marshall allowing Hateley to score from the spot. In-between those goals Tony Mowbray had equalised for Celtic with a powerful header from a corner.
