F15 Strike Eagle Emergency Landing with Arrestor Cable

Описание к видео F15 Strike Eagle Emergency Landing with Arrestor Cable

Sparks fly at RAF Lakenheath as a USAF F15 Strike Eagle makes an emergency landing at the Suffolk air base. The aircraft, registration LN311 made a successful landing using the arrestor cable fitted to the runway, with the jet using its in-built hook to latch on to the cable and swiftly bringing it to a stop. This method of stopping aircraft or 'arresting' is typically used in the event of a systems, brake or hydraulic failure.

Emergency services were on hand to assist and the mishap came to a safe conclusion.
