Biden calls Putin a ‘crazy SOB’ and says Trump remark on Navalny ‘astounds me’

US President Joe Biden recently spoke at a fundraiser in San Francisco, where he referred to Russian President Vladimir Putin as a "crazy SOB." He also criticized former President Donald Trump for likening himself to a Russian opposition leader who recently died in prison.

Biden was discussing climate change when he made the remark, highlighting concerns about nuclear conflict but emphasizing that climate change poses an existential threat to humanity.

This isn't the first time Biden has used strong language. In January 2022, he was caught on a microphone using similar language about a Fox News White House reporter.

During the fundraiser, Biden expressed astonishment at recent comments made by Trump, who compared the suspicious death of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny to his own legal troubles in the US. Trump was fined for lying about his wealth on financial statements, and he likened the ruling to "communism or fascism."

After Russian prison officials announced Navalny's death, Biden stated at the White House that although the exact circumstances were unclear, there was no doubt that Putin and his associates were responsible for something related to Navalny's demise.

The Kremlin has denied any involvement in Navalny's death, rejecting Western accusations implicating Putin.
