Griff X Sigrid - Head on Fire (Fan Tribute Video)

Описание к видео Griff X Sigrid - Head on Fire (Fan Tribute Video)

This music video was not made for my own pleasure. This was made because I have not heard a song better than this one and it took me some thought to make something to show my appreciation for this song.

I have been a fan of Sigrid since 2018. She is now my favourite artist. I thoroughly enjoyed her debut album and EPs, and she makes brilliant music all the way around. I first heard of Griff with a track by Zedd called 'Inside Out' in 2020, and then later heard her again on BBC Radio 1 with 'Black Hole', 'One Foot in Front of the Other', and 'One Night'. I have listened to her EP and enjoyed it a lot.

'Head on Fire' is not just a song to me, it is a feeling, an emotion. I became attached as soon as I heard it shortly after its release. I was blown away by the instrumentation, and the simple idea of the lyrics, and I even had a tear come out of my eye on the first listen.

I have watched many live performances, behind the scenes for the video, the making of the song, interviews with the artists themselves, listened to other versions of it released (Acoustic, Danny L Harle Remix, and the MØ & King Princess Remix), and I even listened to the instrumental version to listen to the drums and strings on the chorus without vocals.

I love this song so much, I have done all sorts with it in my own time such as mashing it up with other songs, editing it in various software, and making some remixes with it. When I saw that there was a CD single you could purchase of the song, I pre-ordered it extremely fast since there was a limited supply of copies made, and signed, so I had to grab one and I could not have been happier to know that this song had a physical release, especially on my favourite format which is the CD which I still purchase to this day.

The song peaked at Number 44 on the UK's Official Charts and went to Number 1 on the Physical Singles Chart and the Sales Chart in the UK which was also compiled by the Official Charts Company (OCC).

Whenever I hear this song being played, I get excited. One case scenario was when I heard it at my college. It was playing and I started dancing and singing aloud because you will not have moments like that often.

When I saw the tracklist for NOW That's What I Call Music! 111, I was devastated by the absence of this track. It missed being featured and that really got to me. Most people will just tell me it is just a song, or it is just a CD or compilation, but a NOW album marks a moment for music, and it is a moment for popular music that was out at that time to shine. As a substitute, I bought a CD with the song featured on it called 'Mastermix Pro Disc 261' which is a series of compilations of the latest chart hits to be used by DJs.

One thing I was incredibly happy to know is that the song made it to BBC Radio 1's A-List which is a list of songs which get played on all the daytime shows from 7am to 6pm. I heard it on Radio 1 in a shop and at a car retailer. With that being the case, places that had Radio 1 playing made the song more popular just by people standing wherever they were and listening to what music was being played at that moment in time.

When I heard that Griff and Sigrid were going on The One Show (a BBC One show in the UK) to be interviewed, and to perform the track, I just had to tune in and watch it live which is what I did, and I got so excited when they were being interviewed on live TV. I even got more excited when they performed 'Head on Fire' at the end of the show, which made me incredibly happy.

If this does not explain to you enough how much this song means to me, I do not know what will, but I hope by reading this you have a similar feeling for this song or you just enjoy it as most people would. Music is not just an art form, it is an identity of who you are and what you look for in a song, artist, or album.

If you did read this and felt like you were connected to my story about my experience, that is exactly what I wrote this for. This song has changed my life and I hope it has had some impact or even a slight input on yours whether it is a song you enjoyed hearing on Radio 1 or you even have it in your go-to playlist.
