Jacob Dahlgren sat down for an interview with a group of students, to discuss the meaning of abstraction, the importance of colour and what it really means to ‘collaborate’.

A look inside the third edition of the A.R.M. Holding Children’s programme – “The Flag Project” by Jacob Dahlgren, as it continues its journey through schools across the UAE.

This year, the A.R.M. Holding Children’s Programme, aims to encourage children to think creatively and abstractly about their environments using everyday craft materials and scrap fabrics. With a mission to engage and ignite the interest of the next generation in arts and culture, the A.R.M. Holding Children's Programme is the country’s most extensive cultural education initiative. Starting with 1,800 students in its 2021 launch, it now reaches over 8,000 students in 90 schools across the seven Emirates.
The programme brings together artists and designers who collaborate with local schools through tailored workshops, providing UAE-based students with unique opportunities to nurture their interest and understanding of the arts. Through these workshops, students have the chance to interact with and learn from international artists, while exploring various art and design practices.
