Shane van Gisbergen stretched his tires enough to stay off pit road and pick up a dominant win in the NASCAR Cup Series race at the Charlotte Roval.

Kyle Larson and Christopher Bell, the two closest challengers to van Gisbergen, opted to pit with under 10 laps to go with worn tires. van Gisbergen also had worn tires but stayed off pit road, winning by over 15 seconds ahead of Larson. van Gisbergen and Larson made contact late in the race, fighting for the lead, but raced clean enough to let the better car take the top spot.

"What an awesome race, Kyle and Christopher were driving really good," van Gisbergen said after the win. "I'm all for [contact with Larson]. It was fun. I hope he's not too pissed off."

While most of the focus was on van Gisbergen, Larson, and Bell fighting for the win, many eyes were further back in the pack as Ross Chastain and Joey Logano dueled for the final spot in the next round of the playoffs. Chastain was one point behind Logano on the last lap and made a daring move on Denny Hamlin on the final turn, which caused both drivers to spin around. Chastain finished in reverse to recover time. However, the effort did not work out in his favor, and Logano advanced by four points.
