Adaptive Grappling Lesson 1: The Seated Clinch

Описание к видео Adaptive Grappling Lesson 1: The Seated Clinch

This is a basic introduction to grappling hand fighting positions. Whichever player is controlling the inside space (between the arms) and head position (under the opponents chin) is typically winning the exchange. Once the hand positions are familiar a takedown drill can follow. This is where we start to develop our seated base. We have to try to keep our head and shoulders over the hips in order to stay upright while off balancing our opponent. I have found that while trying not to use my legs as a training partner, they are still helping to keep me based. The adaptive grappler can use this to their advantage by connecting to their opponents base. This seems to translate well from navigating everyday life for grapplers with spinal cord disabilities. I had to completely commit to a takedown in order to off balance Austin.
