The Alchemical Body is a ritual performance by Damiano Fina devoted to the origins of dance. Around the fire, after their hunts, our ancestors used to pray to their gods dancing. The Alchemical Body stages a performance based on sculptural movements, with a strong control of each cell of the body and a meditative state of the organism. The choreography presents a ritual of sculptures dancing in the space in between this world and other worlds. The entire piece is followed by the ancestral live music by Giuseppe Dal Bianco, composed in collaboration with Damiano Fina for the performance.

Damiano Fina is a butoh dancer and queer pedagogist, founder of FÜYA method. He has performed in London, Paris, Berlin, Thessaloniki and Sapporo. He writes books on his philosophical and methodological approach. In 2019 he published the last book "The Dance of Eros and Thanatos: Butoh and Queer Pedagogy".
