We had a snow storm with a good bit of snow that made everything muddy again and delayed our week some. So, since we have some logs gathered, we must debark them for the cabin. I ordered the Agricas chainsaw debarker to see how it would work. It was a bit aggressive for my liking. I think it would work even better on hardwoods rather than the softwoods I am using. The trees I am building the cabin with are mostly Balsam Fir and Spruce. In the video you will see the difference between hand scraped logs vs the chainsaw debarked logs. The trees were cut in mid March and I think the sap was starting to run already so the Balsam Fir peeled very well. The spruce was harder. I will wait to cut more of the spruce later to see if the sap will help separate the bark and I will let you guys know.
