Where is warfarin in a world of DOACs

This session, first presented at the Let's Talk Clots virtual conference, October 2022, considers the challenges now faced in maintaining high quality, expert warfarin services, for an increasingly complex cohort of patients and include:
How is warfarin going to be provided when 90% of those anticoagulated are on DOACs?
Will services maintain local hubs?
Will the professional competencies be maintained?
Who is watching for the change in provision or the consequences of poor care?
What does this mean to patient safety and patient experience?
The session will specifically highlight the issues that has significant impact on those with or managing patients with a history of thrombosis due to complex coagulopathies, antiphospholipid syndrome as well as those with mechanical valves, often requiring high range INR and bridging services.
