Why do RUSSIAN AIRCRAFT fire UNGUIDED ROCKETS in such a WEIRD way?

In the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, an interesting tactic has come through for aviation. This is the launching of unguided rockets from longer ranges from helicopters and Su-25s. This tactic has two advantages; to keep the aircrew safe from MANPADs, and rockets act more like artillery barrage. This tactic is used by both sides of the war.
