Influencers have created brands centered around overconsumption, being out of touch, and an obsession of superficial aesthetics, among other things that are quite frankly destroying your brain. From product hauls to proliferating diet culture to ruining tourism to normalizing botox and fillers, to lying to their followers to get them to buy more, much of influencer culture is toxic. In this video, I discuss the ways in which influencer culture is unhealthy and erodes our critical thinking skills.
