【Pls look at the top comment first】The artist Dragon Of Transsylvania evidently conveys the outstanding character of this historical region in Romania. This time I combine 2 songs together in one video. The background of this album is about a historical story, which can date back to1989, a bitter and memorable history on this land, The Romanian Revolution. This album came out from a talented rock musician, his name is Manfred Michael Seiler, a.k.a. Michael C Dragon, the frontman of Dragon Of Transsylvania. Reviewing this period of shocking history ocurring on European land in recent decades, Romanians called for freedom and democracy at a great cost, even losing homes and lives. The last day of The Ceausescus on Christmas Day that year witnessed that troubled times and chaotic society need to change and people need to live in peace. In the following years, Romania had a long way of social reconstruction.
Under very complicated social background before that civil unrest, life was changed and consciousness was awakened including musicians who held humanism in music works like Michael C Dragon. This album was born under the hardship from social circumstances. Originally, it was an indie record on the label of "Dragon Music World (1989)" released in Germany in 1997 and its re-released version came out in 2010 by German hard rock label Yesterrock.
Transsylvania, the hometown of Manfred Michael Seiler, the place he lost in early 1992 during the communist dictatorship in Romania of those times. With the theme titled song "Transsylvania's Calling" originally produced in 1992, this album conveys his nostalgic feeling of hometown as well as rock and free human spirits. The first song "Wishing" is the opening track, an emotional aor masterrpiece. From the lyrics, it conveys the deepest love with whom he wanted to share. The second song "Fire In Your Eyes" seems to be underrated from the album with strong riffs, a typical hard rock work that takes on the main features of Manfred Michael Seiler's music. Absolutely, he is a hard rockman with awesome voice on his rocking performance, filled with burning passion. The voice of Manfred Michael Seiler in his hard rock tunes reminds me of the performances from those classic hair metal works during late 1980s and early 1990s, especially his treble parts. Anyway, this is real rock n roll from a Romanian even under social instability.
Besides, don't miss these tracks like the theme titled song "Transsylvania's Calling" with its two versions, another hard rock masterpiece which brings his innermost emotions for hometown; "Still Loving You", a melodious ballad blessing for ears; three tracks in folk style: "Beyond - The Blue Of The Sky", "Ghetto Blues" & "The Song of Hope", are all arranged by acoustic guitars penetrating the whole as he can do best in, just included in the re-mastered version (2010).
It is worth mentioning that the last bonus track "Gladiator - No Time To Cry" is an inspiring duet single with Elena Nuzman, german pianist & singer. This song was originally written for Wladimir Klitschko, the Ukrainian former professional boxer and the former champion of the world heavyweight championship. Also it was dedicated to Markus Beyer, the German former professional boxer as well as the former champion of WBC International super middleweight, featuring those footages of Beyer in the music video. But it's a pity that Beyer died from kidney cancer in 2018, at the age of 47.
Anyway, this album is filled with love, peace, dedication and humanism under the circumstance that a musician missed and heard his hometown in the dream. Germany is the place where Manfred Michael Seiler went on rocking and made all these early inspirations and everlasting emotions become music tunes. The originally version includes 7 tracks while Manfred Michael Seiler wrote 3 new works for its re-issued version. From its newly released version in 2010, all the songs were recorded in English while the original version includes one track in German. He is a true linguist, who can well deal with Romanian, English and German, evenmany other European languages which can be heard from his another solo album "Transylvania Land Of Dreams (2001)".
About humanism from his music, he writes songs for hometown, nature, social charity and those heros in people's hearts, who live and die for the world like the late German boxing star Stefan Raaff, who was murdered in 2012 and all heros before and during the Romanian Revolution in December 1989. In his versatile life, he's not only a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, but also a martial art exper. He is the first musician in the history, whose composition is a motivation for astronauts into space. (Thomas Reiter, ISS 2006).
