80-year-old widower Ralph has been in a roller coaster of a relationship with his online girlfriend, "Louise," who claims to be a supervisor overseeing the construction of a shopping center in Berlin. He claims that the German government is holding her in Germany until she can pay fees to satisfy various legal requirements. Over a five-month period, Ralph has tried to help "Louise" financially – to the tune of $154,300. As it happens, he has not heard from "Louise" since he told her he could no longer financially support her. Ralph's son and daughter-in-law are desperate to stop him from going completely insolvent.
