Sleeping at the Oldest Monastery in the World// MT SINAI SUNRISE PILGRIMAGE

We can’t express how much of a bucket list experience this pilgrimage was. Did you know that St. Catherine’s Monastery is one of the oldest monasteries in the world? It was established around the year 565 AD and built by Byzantine emperor Justinian I himself.

We don’t know if we will ever have a more peaceful and sacred experience as sleeping in these ancient rooms and then hiking up the God-trodden mountain for sunrise.

It was the most beautiful sunrise we had ever seen. It was especially precious to us as we prayed for the health of not only 7 of our friends’ babies-in-utero, but also our very own baby! Yes, we’re pregnant!! It was such a blessing to have the WHOLE family on board for this family pilgrimage.
