Giving This Gemstone New Life, How I Recut This Damaged Tanzanite

The tanzanite that I cut in this video is a recycled gemstone, which is what I call a gemstone that has been previously in jewelry, but has been taken out and is intended for use in jewelry again. This piece was too warn to make a good jewelry piece as it was, so I used my skills as a Gem Cutter to turn the old piece into a new and modern work of art worthy of being set back in fine jewelry. The precision faceted modern cut gives a uniquely brilliant new life to the dead piece it was was before.
