What's the deal with Shopsmith's 1 1/4" saw arbor?

✅ SHOP NOTES: While most table saws sold today feature a 5/8" arbor, Shopsmith continues using an 1 1/4" arbor as their standard, even though they now offer a 5/8" arbor. But why?
