Right next to camp we spotted this huge Goanna 'Lace Monitor' climbing up a big tree. His belly was full so i guess he just found himself a snack and needed somewhere to sit and digest his meal. We decided to go check it out 'WITHOUT' getting to close because the Goanna's here in Australia can get cranky and they will whip you with their tail and even try climb you like a tree (and their claws are vet big & sharp)


●Goannas radiated from the north to Africa and Australia during the Miocene epoch, around 15 million years ago and have an important place in our history and culture.
They were an important traditional native food source and are commonly represented in Aboriginal Dreamtime stories.
