Bettong Trapping at Arid Recovery

Описание к видео Bettong Trapping at Arid Recovery

In May 2017 fifteen staff and volunteers spent four nights trapping burrowing bettongs at Arid Recovery.

In this part of the Arid Recovery Reserve we are exposing this threatened species to feral cats in a controlled way in the hope that they will develop anti-predator behaviours that will improve their survival outside of fenced reserves. Feral cats kill millions of native animals a night and are one of the main threats to wildlife like bettongs.

Research is with the Universities of New South Wales and California LA.
