In the early day's of September 1944, our little town of Fosses-la-Ville, Belgium, was liberated by the US ARMY.

The VIIth Corps HQ of General Joe L. Collins was setup in the castle of Taravisée, near Fosses-la-Ville.

My father-in-law, Thierry de Pierpont, a great photographer, took many exceptional photos of that Jayhawk VIIth Corps camp/HQ.
He could have been a very good war photographer, showing so many details on the setup of a camp and the logistics.

I've uploaded a slideshow with these magnificent original photos taken in 1944.

The photos are of a very good quality due to the photographer and the Leica camera used.
I've digitized the slides and not the printouts.
