In this video, we present a poetic reflection on one of the most heartbreaking moments in Islamic history: The Battle of the Camel. The lyrics highlight the virtues of two of the greatest Companions (Sahaba) of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ—Az-Zubayr ibn al-Awam and Talhah ibn Ubaydullah—and the deep sorrow caused by the internal strife (Fitna) that befell the Muslim Ummah.

Who were they?
Az-Zubayr ibn al-Awam (ra): Known as the "Hawari" (Disciple) of the Prophet ﷺ. He was the cousin of the Prophet and one of the ten promised Paradise (Al-Ashara Al-Mubashara). He is famously known as the first person to ever draw a sword in the defense of Islam. His bravery was legendary, and he was a pillar of the early Muslim community.

Talhah ibn Ubaydullah (ra): Known as "Talhatul-Khayr" (Talhah of Goodness) and "The Living Martyr." He earned this title at the Battle of Uhud, where he used his own body as a human shield to protect the Prophet ﷺ, sustaining dozens of wounds and paralyzing his hand to save the Messenger of Allah. He, too, is one of the ten promised Paradise.

The Context
The Battle of the Camel The poem touches upon the "Battle of the Camel" (Waq'at al-Jamal), a tragic conflict that occurred between Ali ibn Abi Talib (ra) and the group comprising Ayesha (ra), Talhah, and Zubayr. It was not a battle born of hatred, but of confusion and a "blind Fitna" (sedition) that escalated beyond control. The main theme of this piece is not political blame, but the profound regret and sadness felt by the noble Companions as "the sword of the beloved met the sword of the beloved." It is a reminder of how delicate unity is and how painful division can be.
