Here, you'll find a food court, curio shops brimming with quirky finds, arts and crafts stores that shimmer with elegance - albeit of uncertain quality - and silky lingerie boutiques. A visit takes you further into traditional Asian family hairdressers, a Taekwondo dojo, a fishing gear shop selling nets of all shapes, an Asian gourmet supermarket for flavorful condiments, and a store for high-pressure cookers and barbecues. This collection of seemingly unrelated shops forms the so-called Chinatown in Auckland. If you have a soft spot for this kind of down-to-earth, vintage shopping experience, it's a must-visit.
