Much of E3’s major, ongoing appeal lies with its game announcements and reveals. It’s like gaming Christmas, but the only gift you’re getting is a teaser for something that won’t be released for seven years. For some games, however, that exaggerated “seven years” comment would actually represent an improvement. Many of the games fortunate enough to get a showcase at E3 never end up coming out at all. And because the internet never forgets, we’ll always have video of the promises that never came true, and we’re able to torment ourselves with them whenever we like.
