It was a thriller of a match when Sri Lanka and Afghanistan faced each other in the first ODI. Sri Lanka posted a massive total of 381 runs on the board and Pathum Nissanka scored a brilliant double-century in the process. During the chase, Afghanistan lost five wickets in quick succession but a superb partnership between Azmatullah Omarzai and Mohammad Nabi took them near the target. In the end, it was Sri Lanka who sealed a victory after winning by 42 runs.
