When you grow a giant pumpkin the pumpkin takes up a lot of space and the positioning is important to reduce stress on the vine. Today I positioned the 2294.5 Noel plant to give the pumpkin a space to grow - putting a big bend in the main vine to give lots of clearance, and layers of plywood, mill fabric and sand underneath the pumpkin to keep it protected on the ground. IMPORTANT - Only do these big bends when it's hot out so the vines are flexible.

This pumpkin is 7 days old, and in the next couple of days is going to start growing a lot...!
