Kwame opens up about his path from aspiring medical student to pharmacist, the challenges he faced during pharmacy education, and the personal trials that shaped him—including the loss of his sister and the shift to remote learning during the pandemic.
Kwame shares how his mother's battle with type 2 diabetes fueled his passion for pharmacy, becoming the first in his family to achieve both a pharmacy qualification and a master's degree. He also reflects on the importance of perseverance, having overcome multiple attempts at the pre-reg exam with the unwavering support of his family and friends.
Beyond his professional life, Kwame discusses his role as a mental health advocate, podcaster, and healthcare content creator, highlighting his achievements, including receiving the Diana Award in 2021 for Youth Leadership and Mental Health Advocacy, and being recognised by the BLAC Awards in 2023 for his contributions to healthcare. In 2024, he was honoured with the Potential Unlocked Award, marking his commitment to empowering others.
