Heckle and Jeckle King Tut’s Tomb (1950) is a Terrytoons animated short where the mischievous magpie duo explore a mysterious Egyptian pyramid in search of adventure and treasure. Directed by Mannie Davis and released on September 29, 1950, this 6-minute short features Heckle and Jeckle riding a flying carpet over Egypt, entering King Tut’s tomb, and encountering a variety of imaginative tomb visuals including animated mummies, musical sequences, and booby-trap style surprises. The cartoon was produced by Paul Terry and is part of the classic Terrytoons series starring two identical talking magpies known for their chaotic antics. Voicing in this era was one of the few instances where Ned Sparks contributed to the characters’ voices.
