Hey folks

As much as I love playing with the latest and greatest tech there is always something special about the budget end of the scale. And budget is certainly what we are looking at today in the form of this X79 bundle from AliExpress. Are Cheap Xeon PCs Still Worth It In 2021?

For 55 of my great British pounds - thats £15 less than a couple of Corsair LL140 fans - and a wait of two weeks, I received a package containing this Micro ATX sized X79 Motherboard with I/O Shield, 2 x 4GB Sticks of 1333 MHZ DDR3 memory and a 6 Core, 12 Thread XEON E5-2620.

Not content with that though I have upgraded it to an E5-1650V2 - an unlocked XEON, overclocked it and coupled it with 16GB of cheap ECC memory and a sub £100 GPU

... the much maligned GTX 1050Ti...

Lets see if it cuts the mustard!
