Jung’s model of psychological type was based on a psychodynamic systems model of the mind, and the intrinsic predominance of some processes over others in conscious awareness. Modern research literature also describes distinct areas of processing and the mechanisms of attention by which selection occurs between them. We will explore potential parallels, initiating a translation of theory that could enable important future research.

Richard Owen MSc is an organisational psychologist and coach working with career transition and personal / professional development. With certification in a range of both type and trait instruments he takes an integrative approach where multiple lenses on personality reinforce one another. A current Trustee of BAPT, Richard is active in the organisation of conferences and events, including this symposium, and is a regular public speaker.
