On June 23, 2018, we traveled back down to the Sangre de Cristo range in southern Colorado to climb a Class 4 route up Kit Carson. The route we took was Kit Carson's North Ridge. We took Kit Carson's North Ridge up and made our way over to Challenger Point to hit both 14er summits in the same day. We went down the standard route of Challenger Point. This is a difficult climb requiring solid route finding, climbing skills, and endurance.

The North Ridge of Kit Carson along with Challenger Point is a difficult Class 4 climb and is approximately 11.4 miles round trip with 5,315' of elevation gain. The route begins from the Willow Creek Trailhead. This was a fun day of scrambling in the Sangre de Cristos!
