Victoria’s virtual care programs, framework and strategy

Hear about existing virtual programs including Better@Home, Victorian Virtual ED and COVID + Pathways covering the care continuum from urgent care, acute, post op, outpatient and integrated care. The Victorian Virtual Care Operational Framework outlines the key areas of focus including clinical governance, access and equity and evaluation. The Framework sits alongside the Victorian Virtual care strategy and outlines the vision and pathway to integrate virtual care in our State.

Dr Olivia Metcalf, a Senior Research Fellow for the University of Melbourne’s Centre for Digital Transformation of Health presents about the current state of the evidence for remote patient monitoring (RPM). She highlights what the evidence tells us about the identified outcomes for RPM including clinical and cost effectiveness well as some of the key challenges faced by RPM projects.
