Do you want alternative to fontawesome? Best font awesome alternative is here. Font Awesome is icon library and toolkit, used by millions of designers, developers, and content creators. It has free version and PRO version. Font Awesome Pro and Font Awesome Pro Max cost may not be suitable for junior web developers but companies where you work as a web developer may get you Font Awesome Pro version. Or the client that you work with can provide you Font Awesome Pro version to use in his project. Font Awesome Pro has got more than 19,000 icons. Font Awesome Free version has got 2,000 plus icons to use.

So Font Awesome Free icons are limited in quantity as compared to PRO version. To use Font Awesome you have to know which style are you using, so that you can apply specific font family and font weight and all. Font Awesome is good, I use it a lot, but there are other good alternatives as well.

The alternative is Google Icon Fonts. Search and go to google fonts and then click icons tab. This is a great addition in Google's resources for web developers. It has got two flavors.

If you want to use Google Font Icons in design tools like Figma, They have got Figma plugins. Material Icons are available in five styles and a range of downloadable sizes and densities. The icons are based on the core Material Design principles and metrics. You can select the icon,
choose density, size, color and get the code or you can also download it in SVG or PNG format. These icons are available for web, Android, iOS and Flutter. Styles include outlined, filled, rounded, sharp or two tone.

Material Symbols are newest icons containing over 2,500 symbols in a single font file with a wide range of design variants. Symbols are available in three styles of outlined, rounded and sharp
and four adjustable variable font styles of fill, weight, grade, and optical size.

To use icons, click any icon, download SVG or PNG, use static icon font using css or use as variable icon font. Variable icon font has got one font file containing all variants of icons. This is truly a great resource that is free and flexible. Icons library is huge. You can get almost any type of icon from here. If you don't want to use FontAwesome, you can use Google Font Icons, even for your static website.
