Ford Courier (1993) rear diff oil change Ft.Tool Girl Sam

Continuing with the service work on the Ford Courier ute, I get Tool Girl Sam all oily as she returns to the creeper & wheels herself back under the pickup truck.

Unfortunately for Sam, the oil used in older gearboxes & differentials is usually EP 80w90 - a rather thick oil with a very distinctive smell!

So Sam gets to work and as always, gets the job done without any fuss....

You should change your diff & gearbox oils at least every 24 months, sooner if you do a high mileage or if it's a 4x4 used for off-road. If you have recently had the vehicle in deep water then I'd definitely suggest checking the oil for water contamination (milky colour).
