With a very different style of Aikido to Chida Sensei, Chino Sensei was also a direct student of Kancho Gozo Shioda, the founder of Yoshinkan Aikido. In this video he performs at the Kagami Biraki Enbu at the Yoshinkan Aikido honbu dojo in Ochiai. In my book, Suck It Up Or Go Home, I describe what it was like to take Chino Sensei's technique and spend a year as Senshusei in Tokyo, Japan. Chino Sensei had a reputation for destroying his uke (the person receiving the technique) but in this video Graham Sewanin is spared – the same couldn't be said for the 51st All Japan Enbu (I'll post this soon).
