Flat-earther Dirt Cuz invited (and challenged) me to debunk his Hawaii long-distance observation. He filmed from the Big Island, claiming there’s “no curve” across 84 miles when viewing Kahoʻolawe, Lanai, and Maui. Let’s break it down carefully — with maps, math, and modeling.

📍 Observation Setup:

Location: Big Island of Hawaii (~200 ft observer height)

Distance: ~80 miles to Lanai’s peak (Lānaʻihale, 3,370 ft)

Claimed: “No curvature — bottoms of islands visible at waterline”

🔎 Globe Predictions vs. Reality:

Walter Bislin’s Earth Curve Calculator → At ~80 mi & ~200 ft observer height, ~2,000–2,600 ft of Lanai should be hidden. Only the top should appear — and that’s exactly what we see.

PeakFinder → Horizon shows ~17–18 miles out, then jumps to 50+ miles with elevation gains — proving the farther islands are missing their bases.

Maui’s lower slopes? Gone.

Molokai’s 5,000 ft peak? Completely blocked by Maui.

Molokini Crater (160 ft, 53 miles)? Nowhere in sight.
