Grimbergen I Abdijkerk I Sint-Servaasbasiliek

De abdijkerk van Grimbergen of de Sint-Servaasbasiliek wordt beschouwd als een van de mooiste en meest harmonieuze barokkerken in de Lage Landen.

In 1999, op het hoogfeest van de Onbevlekte Ontvangenis van Maria, werd aan de kerk de eretitel van basiliek verleend.
De kerk doet naast abdijkerk tevens ook dienst als parochiekerk. De patronen van de abdijkerk zijn de apostelen Petrus en Paulus. De patroon van de parochiekerk is St.-Servaas.

De toren met 48 klokken geeft een mooi panoramisch zicht op de omgeving.

Eng: The Abbey Church of Grimbergen or Saint Servatius Basilica is considered one of the most beautiful and harmonious Baroque churches in the Low Countries.

In 1999, on the feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary, the church was granted the honorary title of basilica.
In addition to being an abbey church, the church also serves as a parish church. The patrons of the abbey church are the apostles Peter and Paul. The patron saint of the parish church is St. Servatius.

The tower with 48 bells gives a nice panoramic view of the surroundings.
