This AR-15 Is Just Different |

Hey, folks! Welcome back! As some of you might have noticed on this channel, I don’t really talk much about the AR-15 platform. I know, the nerves… To be honest, I’m more of a handgun type of guy, and frankly, don’t see what value I’ll be bringing to the table considering my extremely limited knowledge of the platform and my limited amount of time spent behind it (just keeping it a buck with you…as the kids would say). Besides, with channels like the School of The American Rifle, I’d rather remain forever a student, and never waste a second of my life pretending to know what I don’t know. So consider this as step 1 of this mission to further educate myself and become more comfortable with the platform.
Now, speaking of comfort, one thing that's held me back from fully embracing rifle training (aside from the ever-rising cost of ammo) is the annoyance of having to deal with gas blowback when shooting. For those who are new to the channel… I’m right handed, left eye dominant, shoot rifles as a lefty, and have plans to live a long and healthy life. And If you don’t know, now you know.

These facts alone are what got me interested in Stag Arms rifles. As many of you probably know, they’re arguably one of the major rifle manufacturers that’s really invested in providing left-hand ejection uppers, catering to what they affectionately call the “Lefty Mafia”. So when they unveiled their Project SPCTRM (Special Tactical Rifle Makeup)...in 50 Shades of ODG? Oh I jumped in with both feet!

Today, we're going to nerd out on the specs a little bit. I'll share what I like about the rifle, what I don't, and some potential upgrades to better suit my needs moving forward.
