Karon Beach (Thai: หาดกะรน, RTGS: Hat Karon, pronounced [hàːt kā.rōn]) refers to a beach, and the town adjoining it, on the west coast of Phuket, Thailand.

The beach is a popular destination for tourists. Generally quieter than neighbouring Patong, it is popular with families and couples. ntent

Karon Beach in Phuket is one of the longest beaches on the island, spanning 5 km of fine white sand overlooking the Andaman Sea. The northern end of the beach is usually deserted, making it an excellent spot for those who want the beach to themselves. The southern end, close to Kata, tends to be busier but it isn't that hard to find a nice spot for yourself.

There are very few waves during the high season (November–April), resulting in crystal-clear waters. However, Karon Beach experiences dangerous swells and riptides in the southwest monsoon season (May–October). While there are lifeguards on the beach, it's best to take note of warning flags and be very careful.



Karon Beach was heavily damaged by the tsunamis following the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake, especially in its southern regions, but has since largely recovered and by 2008 showed little evidence of tsunami damage.

This beach is the biggest and we really enjoyed just walking on it as the beach is beautiful and the sand as well. There is a lot of people but since it is a very big beach, it doesn't feel as crowded as it would in normal time.

There is also a lot of shops on the other side of the street along the beach which is great as you can find food, drinks etc. Perfect to spend all day at the beach if you wish.
