TIPS for long-storing, AMAZING garlic! ⬇️

As long as you cured your garlic, picked a variety with high storage potential (my favorite is Music🧄), and stored them properly, you should be able to enjoy them for 10+ months!

Here’s more details behind the steps:
🧄 Triming off the little root hairs to 1/2” long will keep them cleaner in storage and reduce the overall bulk
🧄 When chopping the stem to a length of about 1-2”, only do one as a “tester” to make sure it’s FULLY dry before moving on to the rest
🧄 Be careful when brushing off dirty layers of papery skin (those layers are protective and will help the bulbs store longer, so don’t remove too much!)
🧄 Saving your biggest and best looking bulbs for planting will ensure healthy and vibrant seed stock for next year’s harvest
🧄 Allowing for airflow is key in storage (you don’t want them to mold or rot), so I’ve found these mesh storage bags to be an awesome solution.
🧄 The hardest part is finding a storage spot that’s cool (ideally 50 degrees) and dark, especially in August. If you have a root cellar or a cool basement, that’s best. I don’t have either, so I just do my best
