Ok, so, years ago when I was a deep range explorer in Elite Dangerous, I set out to become the first person to circumnavigate the galaxy (a digital 1:1 scale model of the Milky Way). Sadly, somebody else beat me around, and got the glory...but I became very well known in the community for being the first person to even make the attempt; and because...

I kept a travel blog on the forums which had several thousand followers...

and then one day catastrophe struck...

My laptop was massively heating up...and when I finished for the day, I went to pack up my computer...to find that the power cable would not come out. It had apparently welded itself onto the jack pin. And when I DID manage to pry it out, the jack-pin broke off with it.

I immediately took it to a tech; only to learn that on that particular model of laptop, the power board and mother board were integrated..as such replacing it would cost as much as a new laptop.

Fearing that my gaming days were over (it could be YEARS before I got the money to get a new computer), I logged on to the forums with what little battery power I had left in my laptop, and entered the MAYDAY message on my blog as a likely farewell:

Within the next three weeks I received a MASSIVELY unexpected windfall and was able to replace my computer...

I Logged on to the forums to find that my message had actually spawned the games very first MASSIVE search and rescue mission.

And so, I entered the following onto my blog (for those non players, FSD means Frame Shift Drive...which is your ships FTL engine. It has two modes, supercruise for in system FTL and JUMP for going from one system to the next):
