True North – The Story of a Song

A short documentary film following the adventures of Commoners Choir as they prepare and perform as part of the Great Exhibition of the North: Their battles with arms manufacturers, the challenges of learning a new piece of music along with the lush sound of Manchester's She Choir and the booming beauty of Stockton's Infant Hercules choir, and the eventual combined performance overlooking Newcastle and the Tyne.
The song 'True North', written in collaboration with the three choirs, celebrates and eulogises the north of England – its landscape, its people, its language and its history.
