In the fall on 1995, News 8's Rick Powers interviewed baseball legend and longtime San Diego Padre Tony Gwynn and his then 12-year-old son who was a bat boy for the team. The clip shows father and son's passion for the game and bond with one another. Although in 1995 he wanted to play shortstop, Gwynn Jr. went on to play as an outfielder for several MLB teams including the Padres. As of 2019, Jr. works as a broadcaster for the team on TV and radio. There's no doubt he made his late father very proud.
