😁ASK DR. H — Does Charcoal toothpaste work?

🦷 I try all the fad products so you don’t have to! As a dentist, it’s important to me to be able to give the best recommendations and opinions.

❓There is a lot of debate over whether or not charcoal is good for your teeth… and, personally, this product is not my favorite.

🚨My list of cons include: the lack of a minty fresh flavor, the harsh impact it has on enamel, and the fact that many charcoal toothpastes do not contain fluoride which, in my professional opinion, is a key ingredient in overall dental health.

😅To be totally transparent, I don’t have a whole lot of pros.

➡️My recommendation? Stick to your regular whitening toothpaste with fluoride!
