President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and First Lady Louise Araneta Marcos receive His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), in a courtesy call at the President’s Hall in Malacañan Palace on 4 June 2024.

During the meeting, His Highness conveys his heartfelt gratitude to the President for the warm reception he received in the Philippines and commends the Filipinos who have made the UAE their second home, citing it as a testament to the enduring relationship between the two nations.

The Foreign Minister reiterates his commitment to elevating bilateral ties between the Philippines and the UAE, emphasizing the potential for increased cooperation in areas such as water, agriculture and renewable energy (RE), among others.

In response, President Marcos Jr. expresses his profound appreciation to the UAE Foreign Minister for the visit, pledging to strengthen bilateral partnership between the two countries and exploring new opportunities to enhance collaboration which will foster even more robust and mutually beneficial relations.

Additionally, the Chief Executive applauds the UAE Government for hosting the Conference of the Parties (COP 28) last year, extending his gratitude for their hospitality and welcoming the Philippines to the Conference.
