The Gairaan site, which served as a crucial shield between the garbage depot and nearby residential areas, has suffered extensive deforestation. The destruction has not only decimated local wildlife but also left behind unsightly piles of wood.

Residents are voicing their outrage, demanding accountability from PCMC for allowing this environmental catastrophe to occur. In response to the criticism, PCMC has pledged to take action and file an FIR against those responsible after completing an assessment.
