Canning pears, like canning peaches and canning applesauce, were on my goal list for this year. So glad they went on sale for a good quality canning pear! Homemade is so good! In today's video I waterbath can almost 40 pounds of bartlett pears. We are so excited to have these on our shelves for the next year, if we can manage to make them last that long! We love having this added bit of food security as well. While not as popular as canning peaches, pears are a favorite in our house! We will be canning one more box yet this years and then call it good. Sure wish we had our own pear trees outside but for now, we are glad to be able to source them from our local coop.
